A relatively brilliant defensive prospect, Alex Sarr clearly needs to progress in his offensive game, as we saw recently in Summer League. But some remain very enthusiastic about the future.

Author of a very interesting first match with the Wizards in this Summer League, Alex Sarr has since been in great difficulty.

In his last two matches, the Frenchman is 1/21 shooting, which does not completely surprise recruiters about him.

This remains a very disappointing percentage, yes, but Sarr has a lot of work to do to compete with the best offensively.

Alex Sarr supported after criticism
His qualities lie elsewhere, notably in defense where he has distinguished himself on several occasions with Washington until now.

And for Brett Usher, Sarr has everything it takes to become a very special player in this league… under a few conditions. Suffice it to say that the young Wizards player will be watched very closely in the years to come.

.

Brett Usher: “If Alex Sarr has or can develop a true “DAWG” mentality, he will be a heck of a player once he gets stronger and learns the NBA game.

His physical/athletic tools are undeniable, and I’m really not worried about the development of his offensive game.

If, to use another cliché, the killer instinct is there (and it does the necessary work), the rest will take care of itself.»

We imagine that the Wizards are not worried at all after these few games, and neither is Sarr.

It’s never easy to get into Summer League or the NBA, but the potential is real for the Frenchman.

It’s up to him to continue working to achieve it.

“Will Dawkins is ahead of the curve, that’s why he decided to acquire Jonas Valanciunas.

He will play the role of mentor.»
