Caitlin Clark revealed that she might have hurt the feelings of someone important in her life.
Although Clark is a proud Iowa native, the WNBA star expressed her feelings about her hometown.

“I mean it’s definitely a place that I love coming to a lot,” Clark said. “It’s nice to be back there. It’s a seven-hour drive, so it’s hard to get back sometimes, but it was good. I did an event for my foundation which was really fun to be able to do that, and see a lot of family, see some friends, and hopefully I’ll be able to get back there after the season ends even more,” Clark revealed.
Following a much-needed break from the grueling Fever schedule, Clark returned to her roots and gave back to the community that helped raise her. Clark recently provided students with Nike backpacks loaded with school designs courtesy of the Caitlin Clark Foundation.
However, during her time back in Des Moines, Clark realized she was possibly outgrowing her hometown. Her mother probably didn’t want to hear such a development.
“I love that place,” she said. “I told my mom I’d probably never live there again. I probably broke her heart a little bit, but I love it. There’s bigger, better than there,” Clark said.
Perhaps once the WNBA All-Star break ends, Clark’s heart for Des Moines will grow fonder. The Fever plays the Phoenix Mercury on Aug. 16, slotting Clark against Olympic players Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner.
