BBC Sports presenter Gabby Logan has come under fire after dropping an expletive phase twice in quick succession on air.
The controversial moment took place when the sports broadcaster was discussing the United States’ disastrous 4x100m relay race.
The US were a red-hot favourite to take home the gold but a bungled baton handover saw the team rapidly drop down the order before eventually being disqualified.
After the race, Logan, 51, discussed the US’ dreadful showing with BBC Athletics experts Jessica Ennis-Hill and Michael Johnson.
A replay of the botched handover was soon shown, which Logan branded a ‘c**k-up’.
BBC Olympics presenter Gabby Logan came under fire for branding a mistake by the USA 4x100m Olympic team a ‘c**k-up’
The US were once again cruelled by a botched baton handover in the men’s 4x100m final
Logan used the phrase again when she tried to gain Johnson’s thoughts on the race, leaving several on social media shocked.
On X, @DarrenSymons posted: ‘Is Gabby Logan allowed to call the issues in the relay for Team USA an absolute c**k up?’
@EgWarren673 added: ‘Did Gabby Logan just describe the USA handover as a ‘c**k-up’ on BBC or did I mishear’.
The expletive in question used by Logan is termed as rude by the Cambridge dictionary.
However, no apology from the host was forthcoming despite the incident occurring before the broadcaster’s 9pm watershed.
It may prove to be a moment to forget for Logan but it was most certainly a race to forget for the Americans.
The disqualification extended their drought in the men’s 4x100m to a staggering 20 years, with their last gold medal in the event at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
Some fans on X (formerly Twitter) were left scratching their heads after Logan made the comments

They have also failed to land a medal of any kind in the race since a second-place finish at the Athens Games in 2004.
Ultimately it was Canada who took home the gold in Paris, with South Africa and Great Britain securing silver and bronze respectively.
