Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese posted a cryptic message on X, formerly Twitter, seemingly around the same time when Clark and the Fever were battling their way back against the Sun in the fourth quarter.

Reese, the seventh overall pick in this year’s WNBA rookie draft, took to X, wrote:

“I’m stick to my stomach.”

Meanwhile, the Fever, fell short in their push, eventually losing to Connecticut, 87-81, in the game and saw their comeback season come to an end.

Reese and Clark were among the top rookies in their class and often pitted against each other, which was an extension of their rivalry in college. Both led their respective teams to renewed competitiveness this season and left many in the WNBA impressed and optimistic moving forward.

Clark (19.2 ppg, 8.4 apg, 5.7 rpg and 1.3 spg) was adjudged Rookie of the Year by Associated Press for her all-around play throughout their campaign while helping the Fever return to the playoffs after eight years.

Meanwhile, Angel Reese (13.6 ppg, 13.1 rpg, 1.9 apg and 1.3 spg) saw her campaign cut short after she suffered a season-ending wrist injury late in their campaign. But she had alreaedy turned a lot of heads by that time as a bona-fide double-double machine while setting new marks for rebounding along the way.

Angel Reese says she does not hate Caitlin Clark

While acknowledging her perceived rivalry with Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese reiterated that she does not hate the Indiana Fever star guard and even expressed the belief that at some point they are going to be teammates.

The outspoken Chicago Sky forward shared this on the first episode of her Unapologetically Angel podcast early this month. She said both of them just love to compete and there is no hate between them.

She said:

“There is no hate. We’re gonna play on the same team one day, I’m sure. We’re gonna definitely play on the same team one day.”

Check out what she had to say below, beginning at 12:14:

The rivalry between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark dates back to college when the former starred for LSU and the latter for Iowa. It spilt over into the pros where they found themselves pitted once again while having stellar rookie campaigns.
