Les rookies NBA Zaccharie Risacher (gauche) et Bronny James (droite)

Although he was chosen first overall in the last draft by Atlanta, Zaccharie Risacher has not yet raised the crowds in the United States.

The young Frenchman has notably chained together a series of lack of respect towards his person, involving a certain Bronny James.

Injured at the end of the Summer League, Zaccharie Risacher saw his first steps with the Hawks cut short.

In any case, the first pick of the 2024 vintage will have an important role to play in Georgia from his first season in the NBA.

While waiting for him to reach physical maturity, the former JL Bourg player is already impressing observers with his defensive potential.

His new team will need it.

That being said, and unlike his compatriot Victor Wembanyama a year ago, the Frenchman is far from generating monstrous hype.

The proof is that he is regularly snubbed in favor of Bronny James, who was the 55th draft pick but incidentally is also the eldest son of the Lakers superstar.

This had already been the case before the start of the Summer League and this time, it is the NBA 2K video game that is adding another layer.

Big disrespect to Zaccharie Risacher on NBA 2K

Bronny was given a face scan before the first pick of this draft 😭

Risacher clearly has a long way to go before he earns respect on American soil… Bronny may have been pretty average in the summer league, and the Lakers may have announced that he will spend most of his time in the G League next season, but he is being treated much better than he was at the Habs.

The worst part of all this is that it seems completely natural to the eyes of the US fans, who are merciless.

You wouldn’t even know the name of the first pick without Google 😭

I know who Bronny is. To this day, I still don’t know who the #1 pick is.

Bronny James didn’t shine a ton in Summer League, but he’s still more popular than Zaccharie Risacher with fans and even the NBA 2K video game franchise.

Here’s hoping that trend reverses next season.
