Shohei Ohtani suffered a shoulder injury while sliding into second base on a steal attempt.
He looked like a man who would be down for some time in the following games as the series shifts to Yankee Stadium.
The Dodgers won 4-2, but Ohtani’s injury left Dodger Stadium stunned.
On Sunday, Dave Roberts made it clear that Ohtani would play in Game 3.
“He’s in a great spot. He’s playing tomorrow,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told ESPN’s Karl Ravech via text.

Shohei Ohtani, who did not sit out any games because of injury this season, was tagged out on the steal attempt at second base to end the seventh inning. He would not get up as a Dodgers trainer would come out and tend to him.
The Japanese slugger was 0 for 3 with a walk in the game. He is 1 for 8 in the first two games of the Fall Classic and is batting .260 with three home runs and 10 RBIs in his first postseason in the majors.

What Shohei Ohtani Told Dodgers Trainer After Injury
Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani exited Game 2 of the World Series in the bottom of the seventh inning with a shoulder injury.
Ohtani was seen gingerly holding his left arm.
A social media account that offers English-language reporting on Japanese baseball revealed the Dodgers sensation’s exchange with translators and trainers.
‘Shoulder,’ Ohtani said.
‘Really?’ the translator asked. ‘Which one?’
‘Left,’ Ohtani said.
Mic picked up on Ohtani
“Shoulder.”
“Really? Which one?”
“Left.”
“Did it pop out?”
“I think so.”
