Steph Curry et LeBron James

In a plethora of players like Team USA, it can sometimes be difficult to find a true leader.

However, according to Draymond Green, a certain player has already taken on this role ahead of LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

This year at the Paris Olympics, no mistake will be forgiven for the American basketball team.

To save the honor of Uncle Sam’s country after the fiasco of the last World Cup, Steve Kerr literally called on the Avengers.

No more question of lining up only potential superstars, this time the team is almost entirely composed of champions in essence.

LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are thus present in France.

For the moment, this choice proves the coach right since his men have remained undefeated during the group stage.

Even if some still need to find their rhythm, most have been able to play their part well. But as Draymond Green teased on his podcast, the boss of Team USA could be a different guy altogether.

A different boss than LeBron, KD, and Steph Curry on Team USA?
Anthony Edwards, in particular, continues to grow and I think what I like the most is the way LeBron, Steph, and KD are giving him the keys to Team USA in a sense that they’re welcoming him to be the future of the team.

If you watch the games, you can see that he runs the game every time he’s on the court.

He was only half-joking when he said they’re going to have to learn to adapt to him.

But I say half, because he was really serious and he meant it, but he says it, does it and goes about it in a way that gives him unfailing confidence and borders on arrogance.

But if you understand something about greatness, you have to be very close to arrogance to be great in any area. So it is this conviction, this slightly pretentious side, that separates them.

Since the start of the competition, Anthony Edwards has been stringing together very convincing performances.

He is currently the top scorer on his team with an average of 16.7 points. During the last group match against Puerto Rico, the Timberwolves superstar put on a show by scoring a whopping 26 points on 11/15 shooting, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

And as Draymond Green pointed out, at 22 years old and despite his lack of experience compared to most of his teammates, Ant-Man does not hesitate to bring the ball up or organize the game, he also finds himself quite often with the ball in his hands at the end of possession.

Can we deduce that the keys to Team USA have actually been given to him? Everyone will be able to get an idea in the elimination phase.

Anthony Edwards is not afraid of anything, we already knew that.

And according to Draymond Green, the star guard would even establish himself as the leader of this United States team which nevertheless has LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant at its head.
