WNBA Angel Reese’s newest teammate appears to be Cynthia Erivo, as the Chicago Sky rookie has appeared in new ad for the upcoming ‘Wicked’ movie.

Reese is seen being followed by cameras in the ad before shooting hoops on a barely lite court by herself.

Erivo, who plays the main character, Elphaba, in the movie musical, also appears on the jumbotron as part of the ad.

The ‘Wicked’ movie is an adaptation of one of the longest-running shows on Broadway that tells the story of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ from the perspective of the Wicked Witch of the West.

Several themes from the big screen appear in the ad including a yellow brick road and the Emerald City.

Reese is seen on screen shooting a basketball and quoting famous lines from the musical

‘There’s a lot of noise out there, it can surround you, pull at you and weigh you down,’ Reese said in the ad.

‘But I’ve got other plans,’ Reese continued. ‘Defy gravity, rise above the noise, nothing’s going to bring me down.’

Footage of Erivo riding on a broomstick as the main character in ‘Wicked’ is also seen at the end of the ad.

Reese’s popularity has skyrocketed over the last two years as one of the integral players in the uptick in interest in women’s basketball.

Reese was a WNBA All-Star earlier this year as she completes her rookie season with the Sky.
