A paparazzo accused Taylor Swift’s father of assault following a show in Australia, and fans took to Twitter/X to defend Scott Swift.

On February 26, assault allegations surfaced against Taylor Swift’s father. Scott Swift reportedly attacked a paparazzo following a concert in Australia. Photographer Ben McDonald filed a complaint with New South Wales police, who quickly investigated the incident.

Swift’s rep issued a statement later that day. “Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water,” they said.

Following the episode, Swifties swarmed Twitter/X in defense of Scott Swift, saying he was very much in the right for “protecting” Taylor.

Taylor Swift fans defended singer’s father following allegations

Taylor Swift fans quickly went on the defense of their favorite pop singer’s father. Taking to Twitter/X, fans worldwide posted their thoughts about the situation with many claiming Scott Swift had every right to thwart the photographer’s advances.

“You breached her privacy to the point of being illegal for 2 weeks, you stalked her until the very last second, and you expect HER DAD not to shove you away after THIS?” wrote a fan. “Get f*cked and Scott Swift thanks for protecting your daughter.”

“Swifties showing up to back up & defend Scott Swift,” echoed another, attaching a gif of what appears to be from a video game depicting an army falling in line.

“Live, laugh, Scott Swift,” said another follower.

“Scott Swift will either pass you a sandwich or give you a knuckle sandwich it just depends on how you treat his daughter,” quipped a fan.

“He’s so real for this. We stand with Scott,” added another.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour continues on March 2 with a show at the National Stadium in Singapore.
