While LeBron James and Stephen Curry are friends today and happy to have played together, the relationship between the two was not always like that in the past.

The rivalry between Golden State and Cleveland has clearly left its mark.

Barring a miracle, LeBron James and Stephen Curry will not have the opportunity to play on the same NBA team one day.

It is still possible, if the leader asks for his trade for example, but it looks very complicated to set up.

However, fans had hope after this summer with Team USA, a moment chosen by Curry and James to show a lot of complicity.

It must be said that the two do not hide it: they had a lot of fun playing together.

The Chef even made a call , he who hopes to do it again one day.

This is why some fans continue to believe in an association and yet, a few years ago, it seemed impossible.

After all, their relationship has not always been so good.

Curry-James rivalry resurfaces

A few years ago, the Cavaliers and Warriors regularly faced off to try to win the championship.

Cleveland, for example, had come out on top in 2016 thanks to James’ big return to Ohio, and his clan wasn’t really a fan of Curry.

The reason? His status as the best player on the planet, as revealed by journalist Sam Amick.

Sam Amick : “It was amazing to me to see Curry and LeBron like each other so much during those Olympics. Because we’ve been to those Finals where, no matter what LeBron says today, it wasn’t really animosity, but they were rivals. Their camps didn’t always like the way they talked about each other.”

“LeBron’s people didn’t like it when people started calling Curry the best player in the world, and the tension was real. There were these moments on the court where sometimes LeBron would use his size to get the better of Steph, to show the world that he was smaller, younger. The dynamic was real. To go from that to Team USA having so much fun playing together, it’s something I never thought I’d see.”

No, the relationship between LeBron James and Stephen Curry hasn’t always been healthy and we’ve seen that in the past. Now? The two have managed to appreciate each other, especially given what they both accomplish in this league. And it’s probably for the best.
